Anudi proud of her performance despite losing Miss World finals

Miss Sri Lanka Anudi Gunasekara said she was proud of her performance at Miss World 2025, despite failing to win the finals.

She said she cant wait to be back in Sri Lanka, surrounded by her amazing people, and to celebrate the journey together.

“What an incredible journey it has been! Thank you so much for being by my side and cheering me on every step of the way. Your support, love, and encouragement truly lifted me and made this experience unforgettable. A big thank you to the Miss World Organization for an amazing journey that I will always treasure. Congratulations to Suchata on your well-earned victory. It was a pleasure to share the stage with such inspiring women. To the beautiful state of Telangana, thank you for welcoming us with open arms and making us feel right at home. It truly felt like a home away from home.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya praised Anudi Gunasekara for representing Miss Sri Lanka at Miss World 2025, despite failing to secure a place among the finalists.

Taking to social media, the Prime Minister said that Anudi’s presence and poise resonated with audiences across Sri Lanka and the globe.

“Anudi Gunasekara proudly represented Sri Lanka at Miss World 2025. Her presence and poise resonated with audiences across Sri Lanka and the globe. Congratulations on your journey, Anudi, and thank you for representing Sri Lanka on the global stage with dignity and pride,” the Prime Minister said.

Thailand’s Suchata Chuangsri, known as Opal, was crowned Miss World 2025—the first Thai woman to win the global title in 74 years. (Colombo Gazette)
