Miss Sri Lanka picked as a finalist in the Miss World Talent competition

Miss Sri Lanka Anudi Gunasekara has been picked as a finalist in the Miss World Talent competition, which is part of the Miss World event taking place in Telangana.

Anudi Gunasekara was among nearly 100 contestants who showcased their talents with passion and dedication, bringing energy and character to the competition.

Following a round of impressive auditions and a highly competitive second cut, 24 outstanding young women, including Anudi Gunasekara, earned their place in the Talent Challenge Final.

They will take the stage once more on May 23 to perform for the world. The winner will be fast-tracked to the overall Top 10 in her continental region.

Troops promoted to mark 13 years since defeat of LTTE

A number of troops were promoted today to mark 13 years since the defeat of the LTTE. The Army said that a total of 396 Officers and 8110 Other Ranks were promoted to their next rank, with effect from today. Two MPs arrested over attack on peaceful demonstrators

Two Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna Parliamentarians, Sanath Nishantha and Milan Jayathilake, have been arrested over the attack on peaceful demonstrators near Temple Trees and Galle Face.
