Lanka Comic Con bans a group of cosplayers over harassment

Lanka Comic Con announced it has decided to ban a group of cosplayers over the alleged harassment of a girl, including pressuring her to consider suicide.

Issuing a statement, Lanka Comic Con said that the identified cosplayers have been banned from attending Lanka Comic Con, and any of their other events.

It also said that they will not work with any body that has anything to do with the cosplayers facing the allegations.

“It is hard to believe that there are people like this in the world. But, there are. This wasn’t friendly teasing or childish drama. They went out of their way to bully, shame, and isolate others. Let us be perfectly clear. There is no gray area here. This was cruel, intentional abuse, and they knew exactly what they were doing,” Lanka Comic Con said.

Lanka Comic Con said that it has also gathered evidence to assist any legal action involving the cosplayers. (Colombo Gazette)
