Probe underway over foreign drone found in Sri Lankan waters

An investigation is underway over the discovery of a foreign drone in Sri Lankan waters. The drone was discovered at sea in Trincomalee by fishermen and was brought ashore. The fishermen said that the drone was handed over to the Air Force. Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) Media Spokesman, Group Captain Eranda Geeganage said that the drone was a foreign drone usually used in training operations. It is believed that the drone may have drifted into Sri Lankan waters. (Colombo Gazette)

Eight including children missing after flood waters wash away tractor

Eight people including at least 6 children have been reported missing after flood waters wash away a tractor in Karaithivu. The Police said that 13 people were on the tractor at the time of the incident. The tractor had toppled while crossing flood waters in Karaitivu. NPP wins Sri Lanka Parliament polls with over 6.8 million votes

The National People’s Power (NPP) has won the 2024 Parliament Elections in Sri Lanka with over 6.8 million votes.
