Two former Army intelligence officers arrested over Keith Noyahr abduction

Two former Sri Lanka Army intelligence officers have been arrested over the 2008 abduction and assault on journalist Keith Noyahr.

The suspects were arrested by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) following investigations conducted over the incident.

According to the Police, the suspects were arrested?in the Nawagaththegama and Elayapaththuwa Police divisions.

They were produced before the Mount Lavinia Magistrate?s Court and granted bail.

Noyahr was abducted in May 2008, assaulted and later released.

His abduction followed articles written by him in The Nation newspaper raising questions on the establishment at the time led by then President Mahinda Rajapaksa and then Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa. (Colombo Gazette)

Second term of schools to begin on May 11th
