Police give chase and open fire on stolen lorry

The Police gave chase and opened fire on a lorry stolen from the Wattala area and eventually forced the vehicle to stop, in a street chase captured on video.
The vehicle, which was transporting vegetables, had been stolen when the driver parked it in Wattala and stepped out for a brief break.
The Police gave chase to the vehicle and ordered it to stop but the driver failed to comply.
Eventually, the Police opened fire targeting the tyres of the vehicle and brought it to a halt.
The suspect who stole the vehicle was arrested while a locally manufactured grenade was also found in his possession. (Colombo Gazette)
