Colombo courtroom assassin arrested

The assassin who carried out a deadly shooting inside a courtroom in Colombo was arrested by the Police Special Task Force (STF) while he was fleeing in a van.

The suspect, who was dressed up as a lawyer when he carried out the shooting, was arrested in Puttalam.

A notorious criminal was assassinated inside the court premises in Colombo by the gunman.

Ganemulla Sanjeewa was escorted to court under tight security by Police Special Task Force (STF) officers.

The Police said that the gunman dressed as a lawyer, had smuggled the weapon in a law book into the Aluthkade Courts Complex.

He had shot Ganemulla Sanjeewa and fled the scene. (Colombo Gazette)

President instructs officials to expedite probe on suspects
