Leading businessman Inayet Akbarally passed away

Leading businessman Inayet Akbarally, a key figure behind the success of Akbar Brothers, passed away. He was 88-years- old.

Akbarally co-founded Akbar Brothers with his brothers Abbas and Abid Akbarally.

The Akbar Brothers heritage dates far back to the initial cultivation of the fine Ceylon tea on the Sri Lankan mountain slopes. The Akbarally family has been involved in its selection, blending, packaging and export.

In addition to being among the World?s largest exporter of Ceylon Tea, Akbar Brothers? had successfully diversified into a range of sectors through strategic reinvention and expansion.

The Group has a firm presence in the sectors of Tea, Renewable Energy, Healthcare, Packaging, Property Development and Environmental Services. (Colombo Gazette)
