The water supply to a section of the house in Colombo of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa has been disconnected, allegedly for non-payment of bills.

According to reports, the water supply has been disconnected to the accommodation where Rajapaksas security personnel are accommodated.

Bills amounting to approximately Rs. 300,000 have not been paid.

Rajapaksas’s office claimed that the bills are paid by the Presidential Secretariat.

The Government has been pushing for Rajapaksa to leave the Government owned house in the prime property so it can be used for other purposes. (Colombo Gazette)
