Security tightened at Krrish building following multiple fires

Security has been tightened at the Krrish building in Colombo following multiple fires within the space of just one week.

A fire was reported on the 35th floor of the building on 6th February and another fire was reported on the 24th floor of the building on 7th February.

According to reports, gas cutters used to cut iron was the cause for the fire.

The Fire Department had faced a number of difficulties accessing the floors where the fire broke out as the building is still under construction and remains mostly abandoned as a result of financial and legal issues. (Colombo Gazette)

Police find heroin packed in parcels hidden in Serunuwara

Police has recovered parcels of heroin buried on the Seenanweli beach, stated the Police Media Spokesperson. Serunuwara Police have found 5 parcels weighing 1.416 kgs of heroin buried on the beach. The value of the haul is estimated to be worth Rs 17 million, according to the Police.
