Rift in TNA over CM post

A rift has arisen in the Tamil National Alliance (TNA) as to who should be nominated as the Chief Ministerial candidate for the Northern Provincial Council elections. There are reports that while one section of the TNA wants TNA General Secretary Mavai Senathirajah to be nominated there are others who are backing former?Supreme Court Judge C.V.Vigneswaran for the post. At least two rounds of discussions have been held among the alliance members on the issue but a consensus has not been reached.
