Trump administration slams USAID over funding to teach Sri Lankan journalists

The Trump administration has slammed USAID for spending $7.9 million to teach Sri Lankan journalists how to avoid ?binary-gendered language?.

This was one of several projects the Trump administration has questioned through the official Rapid Response social media account of the White House.

The USAID funded program that aims to advance media ethics in Sri Lanka, was launched to teach journalists how to actively state their gender pronouns and to avoid “binary-gendered language.”

USAID helped launch the project in Sri Lanka in August 2017, with a total projected cost of $7.9 million.

The program was set to run until at least April 14, 2023, according to the grant summary on USASpending.gov.

Rapid Response said that USAID has been completely unaccountable for decades, run by bureaucrats with agendas who believed they answered to nobody.

Media Minister warns Rupavahini heading for bankruptcy
