The Colombo Magistrate?s Court issued and later recalled a warrant for the arrest of former MP Diana Gamage.
The warrant was issued after Gamage failed to appear in court over the case where she was accused of violating?immigration and emigration laws.
The warrant was later recalled after the former State Minister appeared in court through a motion.
Indictments were filed against Gamage for obtaining a Sri Lankan passport using false documents.
In May last year Gamage was granted bail by the Colombo?Magistrate?s Court after being accused of obtaining a passport by producing false information.
She was named as a suspect by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID).
Diana Gamage was stripped of her Parliament seat last year following a landmark Supreme Court judgement.
The Supreme Court ruled that Gamage was not legally qualified to hold a parliamentary seat.?(Colombo Gazette)
