First runner-up at the Mrs. World pageant returns to Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka?s Ishadi Amanda, who was picked as the first runner-up at the Mrs. World pageant held in Las Vegas, US, returned to Sri Lanka on Tuesday.

Amanda was welcomed at the Bandaranaike International Airport by local organisers of the Mrs. Sri Lanka World pageant and her family and friends.

Speaking to reporters at the airport, Amanda reiterated that she did not receive any support from the Government to represent Sri Lanka at the Mrs. World pageant.

Mrs Sri Lanka World National Director Chandimal Jayasinghe also noted that they had to face a number of issues when making arrangements for Amanda to represent Sri Lanka at the Mrs. World pageant.

South Africa?s Tshego Gaelae was crowned Mrs. World while Amanda was the first runner-up and Thailand?s Ploy Panperm was the 2nd runner-up.
