Pushpika de Silva formally reinstated as 2021 Mrs. Sri Lanka

Pushpika de Silva was formally reinstated as the 2021 Mrs. Sri Lanka for Mrs. World by the local franchise holder on Saturday following a court order.

The National Director of Mrs. Sri Lanka World, Chandimal Jayasinghe and Pushpika de Silva hosted a joint media conference where Jayasinghe reinstated Pushpika de Silva as the 2021 Mrs. Sri Lanka for Mrs. World.

Jayasinghe said that the media conference was held as part of the court order that Pushpika de Silva be publicly reinstated.

A court had in October ordered the Mrs. Sri Lanka?title to be given back to Pushpika de Silva after it was stripped from her in 2022.

The District Court of Mount Lavinia delivered the order after a case was filed by Pushpika de Silva.

Her local title was stripped from her in 2022 after she claimed corruption had prevented her from winning the global event held in the US that year.

Local organisers had said at the time that De Silva?s claims had dented the reputation of Sri Lanka globally.

It added that she had been stripped of her Mrs Sri Lanka title and barred from using it for any promotional activities.

However, following the court ruling in October the local organisers said that they are withdrawing the statement and that Pushpika de Silva is the title holder for the year 2021. (Colombo?Gazette)

IMF to review Sri Lanka deal after April elections

Five Lankan fishermen held in India
