Death toll from bad weather hits 40

The death toll from the bad weather hit 40 with 7 people still missing, the?Disaster?Management Center (DMC) said. Nearly 400,000 people were affected by the heavy rain, floods and landslides during the past several days. No decision on death penalty

The government has not decided on the implementation of the death penalty, External Affairs Ministry Secretary Karunatillaka Amunugama said.
