NPP wins Sri Lanka Parliament polls with over 6.8 million votes

The National People’s Power (NPP) has won the 2024 Parliament Elections in Sri Lanka with over 6.8 million votes.

The NPP won all except the Batticaloa District.?The cumulative islandwide votes showed that the NPP had secured 6,863,186 votes and got 159 seats in Parliament which includes 18 National List seats.

The Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) got 1,968,716 votes and secured 40 seats in Parliament including 5 National List seats.

Meanwhile, the Illangai Thamil Arasu Kachi secured 8 seats (1 National List seat), the New Democratic Front 5 seats (2 National List seats) and the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna just 3 seats including 1 National List seat.

The Sri Lanka Muslim Congress also secured 3 seats including 1 National List seat.
