Three killed, several injured in Sri Lanka bus-van collision

Three people were killed and several others sustained injuries in an accident between a bus and a van in the Wilgamuwa area on Thursday.

The Police said that a private passenger bus crashed into a van and toppled down a precipice.

According to the Police, 37 people who were on the bus and 5 people who were in the van sustained injuries in the accident.

The injured were admitted to the Wilgamuwa hospital.

The Police said that 2 people who were in the bus and 1 person who was in the van were reported dead on admission to hospital. (Colombo Gazette)

Five customs officers injured after being assaulted by Kuwaiti couple

Five customs officers were injured after being assaulted by a Kuwaiti couple at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) today. The five officers have been admitted to hospital for treatment following the incident. The incident took place when the?customs officers had requested that a pet dog with the couple be quarantined.
