Nalaka Godahewa to be an observer to ensure stability in Sri Lanka

Former MP Nalaka Godahewa says he has decided to be an observer to ensure stability in Sri Lanka.

The former MP said the new Government deserves a chance to fulfill their promises.

?I entered politics 5 years ago, won my first election with 325,479 votes, becoming the first in Gampaha district and rose to state and cabinet minister. Two and a half years ago, when people became distressed with the government, I stood with them, left all my positions and joined the opposition as an independent MP. Now that the presidential election is over, the new government deserves a chance to fulfill their promises,” he said.

Godahewa earlier supported Gotabaya Rajapaksa at the 2019 Presidential Election.

In the last election Godahewa extended support to Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) leader Sajith Premadasa.

“Stability is what our country needs most, and I am happy to be an observer, as my only expectation is the well-being of our people,? Godahewa said. (Colombo Gazette)

CID grills photojournalist over Mirihana incident

The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) has questioned a photojournalist of a leading newspaper over the Mirihana incident. Daily Mirror photographer Waruna Wanniarachchi was questioned for nearly 4 hours by the CID.
