Second gunman arrested over murder of top Sri Lankan businessman

A second gunman has been arrested over the murder of top Sri Lankan businessman Club Wasantha.

The gunman was arrested in the Panadura area.?Earlier one gunman was arrested in Dehiwala.

Eleven suspects arrested over the murder of leading businessman Club Wasantha, have already been remanded.

Wasantha Perera, alias ?Club Wasantha?, was shot dead in Athurugiriya in July.

Another person also succumbed to his injuries in hospital.

Popular singer K. Sujeewa was among those injured in the shooting incident.

The shooting incident had taken place when Wasantha Perera and K. Sujeewa were guests at the opening of a tattoo studio.

The tattoo studio owner was later arrested over the murder.

Investigations had revealed that the owner of the tattoo studio had received Rs. 1 million from an account in Dubai.

It was also revealed that the tattoo studio owner received money from underworld figures to open the studio.?(Colombo?Gazette)

No major damage from fire at Colombo port

No major damage was reported from the fire at the Colombo port today, officials at the Colombo port said. The fire had erupted at a rubber dump at the port this evening but it was later extinguished.
