SriLankan Airlines rated 4th best airline in South Asia for 2024

SriLankan Airlines has been rated the 4th best airline in South Asia for 2024 by Skytrax, the International air transport rating organisation.

India’s Vistara was rated the best airline in South Asia for 2024 followed by IndiGo, Air India, SriLankan Airlines, Akasa Air, SpiceJet, Maldivian, Pakistan International Airlines, Air India Express and airblue.

The best airline in Asia is Singapore Airlines followed by ANA All Nippon Airways and Cathay Pacific Airways.

The World Airline Star Rating was introduced by Skytrax in 1999 and is a premier evaluation system grading airlines on quality.

Ratings are based on evaluation of product and service standards for both the onboard and airport environments, using a unified and consistent rating system.

The consistency of an airline?s fleet, ground and onboard product and staff service all have a major influence on award of the final Star Rating category. (Colombo Gazette)

Forensic Audit reports found to be incomplete

The five Forensic Audit reports on the Central Bank treasury bond scam, tabled in Parliament this week, have been found to be incomplete. Governor of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) Professor W.D Lakshman was informed by the Secretary-General of Parliament Dhammika Dassanayake that the reports did not contain the relevant annexes and exhibits. He was asked to appear to record a statement over the alleged abduction incident involving Swiss Embassy employee Ganiya Banister.
