Malinga appeals to Sri Lanka to continue supporting men’s team

Former Sri Lanka fast bowler Lasith Malinga appealed to Sri Lanka to continue to support the men’s team and be a strength to them, despite their poor performance.

Making a statement on Facebook, Malinga said that criticizing the team alone will not help them improve.

The former fast bowler of the Sri Lanka team said that the public must not move away from the game on the basis that the team is not doing well.

He urged the public to go for the games featuring the team, including the next match against India and not look to boycott matches.

Malinga noted that if Sri Lankans criticize Sri Lankans then the game will never improve.

He said that no matter who the coach is, in the end it depends on the player on the field.

Malinga said that one must look at a solution to improve Sri Lanka cricket and the public also have that responsibility. (Colombo Gazette)
