Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe resigns from Justice Minister post

Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe resigned from his Justice, Prisons Affairs and Constitutional Reforms Minister portfolio to contest the upcoming Presidential elections.

Rajapakshe told reporters that he resigned following a discussion with President Ranil Wickremesinghe.

Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe recently announced that he will be contesting the upcoming Presidential election.

Rajapakshe said that he will be contesting as part of an alliance.

The former Minister has already been working with the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) faction of the group led by former President Maithripala Sirisena. (Colombo Gazette)

IGP orders CID to investigate allegations made by SLC
