India proposes air bubble arrangement with Sri Lanka

India has proposed an air bubble arrangement with Sri Lanka, India’s Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri said. India is negotiating with 13 countries, including Australia, Japan and Singapore, to establish separate bilateral air bubble arrangements for international flight operations, Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri said on Tuesday, according to NDTV. Under a bilateral air bubble pact, airlines of both the countries can operate international flights with certain restrictions.

Electricity supply disrupted around the island

The electricity supply was disrupted in the entire country today. The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) said the power disruption was due to a technical failure in Kerawalapitiya. A technical issue at the Kerawalapitiya Grid Sub-Station was identified as the main cause for the power failure. The CEB said steps had been taken to restore the electricity supply in stages around the country. (Colombo Gazette)
