Belgium Prince accused of having unauthorised meeting with Ranil

Prince Laurent of Belgium has been accused of meeting Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe without following the proper procedures in his country. The?Belgium media reported that Prince Laurent had not informed the?Belgium Foreign Ministry about his meeting with the Prime Minister. The meeting had taken place last month when the Prime Minister visited Belgium. The Belgium Foreign Ministry was informed only after the meeting took place.?(Colombo Gazette)

Maithripala to visit Iran and Russia for talks next year

President Maithripala Sirisena is to visit Iran and Russia for talks next year, Foreign Minister Mangala Samaraweera said today. He said that?President Sirisena will visit Russia in March on an invitation extended by Russian President Vladimir Putin. Cabinet approves new monthly office allowance for MPs

Cabinet has approved a new monthly office allowance for?members of Parliament. A?proposal made by Gayantha Karunathilaka, Minister of Parliamentary Reforms and Mass Media, to present a proposal to Parliament for provision of a monthly office allowance of Rs. 100,000 to maintain an office for each parliamentarian including national list MPs from January 2017, and to increase the current parliament sitting allowance from Rs. 500 to Rs. 2500, was approved by the Cabinet of Ministers.
