Sabaragamuwa University temporarily closed

The Sabaragamuwa University has been temporarily closed for all students except first year students.?

The decision to temporarily close the university was taken following an assault by a group of senior students on first-year undergraduates.

As a result, students in the hostel have been advised to vacate the premises today.

At least 09 students were injured and admitted to hospital following the clash.? (Colombo Gazette)

US rejected Indian amendments

UNHRC adopts US resolution on Sri Lanka

The UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC) today adopted the US sponsored resolution on Sri Lanka with 25 in favor, 13 against it and 8 abstentions. The US Ambassador to the UN in Geneva Eileen Chamberlain Donahoe, in presenting the resolution to the Council, said that there were 41 co-sponsors to the resolution.
