November 26 in the year 2008 was a sad day for India and the world. It was a day the ugly face of terrorism raised its head once again.
On that fateful day, 10 members of Lashkar-e-Taiba, an Islamist terrorist organisation from Pakistan, carried out 12 coordinated shooting and bombing attacks lasting four days across Mumbai.
A total of 175 people died, including nine attackers, and more than 300 others were wounded.
Among those killed were a few foreigners, including Americans.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi led the nation in paying tribute to the victims of the 26/11 attacks. The chairman of Mahindra Group, Anand Mahindra, also paid tribute to the people and the members of the security forces who perished during the siege.
