Cabinet approves drafting new laws on rights of detainees

Cabinet has approved a proposal to draft new laws which secures the rights of detainees, Government spokesman and Media Minister Gayantha Karunatillake said today. A bill to provide provisions for securing the rights of detainees was drafted in 2016 but it was not tabled in Parliament after some opposition was raised to it. Sri Lanka to help Nepal rebuild temples damaged by quake
