Employees take chairman hostage over several demands

Employees of the Sri Lanka Ayurvedic Drugs Corporation today took their Chairman hostage over several demands. The office room of the Chairman, Lal Samarasinghe was locked by the employees and he was now allowed to leave the premises. VAT to be imposed on some private health services

The new amended Value Added Tax (VAT) will be imposed on some private health services as well, the Government said. According to the Government, the new VAT will not affect diagnostic tests, dialysis and OPD services.
