More Ukrainian tourists infected despite negative certificate

More Ukrainian tourists currently in Sri Lanka have been found to be infected despite them giving a negative certificate to the authorities when they arrived in the country. The Health Ministry said that three more Ukrainian tourists have tested positive for the coronavirus, raising the total number of infections among the touring group to six. India tells Sri Lanka to release fishermen and boats

India has called on Sri Lanka to release detained Indian fishermen and to also free their boats. Isolation status imposed on Kosgama lifted

The isolation status imposed on the Kosgama Police area has been lifted with immediate effect, Army Commander General Shavendra Silva announced. Kosgama was isolated along with Avissawella and Ruwanwella from last Thursday (24). The Army Commander said at the time that the three Police areas were isolated as a precautionary measure due to an increase in Covid infected persons. Meanwhile, eight Police areas and 73 Grama Seva areas remain under isolation. (Colombo Gazette)
