President defends speaking in Sinhalese in Jaffna

President Ranil Wickremesinghe defended speaking in Sinhalese in Jaffna saying he wants the Sinhalese to know what he is saying. Four killed in suspected murder-suicide in Ampara

Four people, including two police officers, were killed in a suspected murder-suicide in Ampara. The Police said that a woman, her daughter and a policeman were shot dead. Another policeman had also committed suicide inside a Police Station. The Police suspected that the policeman who committed suicide had murdered the woman, her daughter and the other policeman before committing suicide. Further investigations are underway. Indians involved in deadly incident with Sri Lanka Navy handed over

Two Indian fishermen who were rescued following a deadly incident involving the Sri Lanka Navy, were handed over to India.
