Fire erupts at construction site on Duplication Road

A fire broke out at a construction site on Duplication Road, close to the Bambalapitiya Junction, the Police said. They said the fire had erupted this afternoon inside a building being constructed at the site. The cause for the fire is yet to be ascertained, the Police added. Meanwhile, the Colombo Fire Brigade said it has dispatched five fire engines to douse the fire. (Colombo Gazette)

Twenty- five Kelaniya University students suspended for 2 years

The University of Kelaniya announced today that twenty- five students have been suspended for 2 years. The University Administration said the students were suspended on charges of removing and causing damage to the CCTV camera system installed for security purposes in the university premises.
