STF seize container with foreign liquor and illegal drugs

The Police Special Task Force seized a container with foreign liquor and illegal drugs in?Maharagama. The Police said that the container had over?1,000 bottles of foreign liquor and illegal drugs inside. The Police said that a suspect was also arrested following the raid. (Colombo Gazette)

Two killed, seven injured in Welikanda road accident

Two people were killed and at least seven others sustained injuries in an accident in Welikanda today. The Police said that a lorry had crashed into a parked vehicle along the?Polonnaruwa -Baticaloa road. Eleven people were in the vehicle when the lorry crashed into it. Those killed in the accident were a woman who was in the vehicle and a man who was in the lorry. The driver of the lorry fled the scene following the accident. (Colombo Gazette)
