Suspect arrested with tear gas canisters

A suspect has been arrested with tear gas canisters stolen during a clash between the Police, military and protesters at the Polduwa Junction on 13th July.

The Police said that the suspect had stolen the tear gas canisters from a Police three-wheeler.

Earlier, a T-56 weapon stolen by protesters who clashed with troops near Parliament was also found.

The Police said that an empty cartridge was also recovered.

The protesters clashed with the Army and Police following a tense situation at the Polduwa junction on 13th July.

Hundreds clashed with the Army in an attempt to enter the Speaker?s official residence and Parliament. (Colombo Gazette)

Champika threatens to expose alleged LTTE deal
