Weekly fuel quota for vehicles revised

The weekly fuel quota for all types of vehicles has been revised, Minister of Power and Energy Kanchana Wijesekara said.

The fuel is being issued under a quota system for those registered with the national fuel pass.

The revised weekly fuel quota?:

? Motorcycles ? 4 litres
? Three-wheelers ? 5 litres
? Vans ? 20 litres
? Cars ? 20 litres
? Land vehicles ? 15 litres
? Lorries ? 50 litres

Revised diesel allocations are as follows:
? Buses ? 40 litres
? Three-wheelers ? 5 litres
? Vans ? 20 litres
? Cars ? 20 litres
? Land vehicles ? 15 litres
? Lorries ? 50 litres

Three-wheel driver shot dead in Horana

A 32- year old three wheeler driver was shot dead in Horana this morning, Police said. Two unidentified gunmen on a motorcycle had shot the victim and fled the scene. The Police said the cause for the shoot out has not been ascertained as yet. Investigations have been launched by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) to apprehend the suspects.
