Over 20 women remanded

A group of 21 women arrested in Seeduwa have been remanded for their alleged involvement in prostitution, the police media unit said today. The police said that the women had been arrested from a night club in Seeduwa following a court order obtained to search the premises. Two robbers are deserters

The army says two of the five robbers arrested over the break-in at the home of journalist Mandana Ismail Abeywickrema yesterday are deserters and not soldiers still serving in the army.
