Minister of Education and Higher Education?Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe attended Parliament sessions today despite a decision taken by the Government to boycott Parliament today. Making a statement in Parliament,?Rajapakshe called for a peaceful resolution to the political crisis. He urged Speaker Karu Jayasuriya to look to negotiate with all parties and resolve the issue.

TNA tells President to appoint a UNF nominated PM

The Tamil National Alliance (TNA) has written to President Maithripala Sirisena urging him to appoint a nominee of the United National Front (UNF) as Prime Minister and end the political crisis. Motion to suspend funds to Prime Minister?s office passed

A motion submitted to Parliament to suspend funds to the Prime Minister?s office was passed today. The motion was passed with 123 members voting for it and no one against it.
