Abandoned bag spreads panic in Hatton bus stand

An abandoned bag spread panic at the main bus stand in Hatton today, the Police said.

The suitcase was found without an owner at the bus stand this evening.

Panic spread in the area after the bag was found abandoned for a long time.

Buses at the bus stand were moved out and shops closed as people fled the area.

The Police was called in to investigate the abandoned bag.

Later an individual appeared saying he had left the bag by mistake.

The Police found clothes and other items in the bag. (Colombo Gazette)

The Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) has topped the votes in the Galle District and secured seven seats at the 2020 General Election. ITAK secures early lead in the North

The Illankai Tamil Arasu Katchi (ITAK) has secured an early lead in the North based on results of the General Elections released this afternoon. ITAK secured 7,634 votes in the Jaffna polling division in the Jaffna District while the EPDP led by Douglas Devananda secured 5,545 votes and AITC secured 4642 votes.
