Tear gas and water cannons fired on university students

Tear gas and water cannons were fired on university students protesting in Fort this evening.

Water cannons were fired followed by tear gas after the students attempted to bring down the barricades near the road leading to the World Trade Center.

University students staged a protest march from Kelaniya to Colombo today.

The march organised by the Inter-University Students? Federation (IUSF) saw the participation of hundreds if university students.

The protesters stormed Colombo to prepare for major protests set to take place at Galle Face tomorrow (Saturday).

The protest at Galle Face tomorrow will mark three months since the campaign began at Galle Face to force President Gotabaya Rajapaksa to resign.?(Colombo Gazette)
