Sajith holds talks with Sirisena, Wigneswaran

Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa had talks with former President Maithripala Sirisena and MP C.V Wigneswaran as well as civil society members today.

The talks were focused on working together to address the crisis in the country.

Premadasa said that everyone must unite to save the country.

He said that over the past three years the country had suffered owing to the leadership deciding to act alone without listening to others.

Premadasa said that the intention of the opposition is to listen to the views of everyone and formulate a national policy to rebuild the country.

Sri Lanka picks Lazard, Clifford Chance as advisers for debt restructuring

Sri Lanka has hired Lazard and Clifford Chance as financial and legal advisers respectively to represent the Government in talks with international creditors, three sources familiar with the situation said. The sources asked not to be named because talks are private. A spokesman for Clifford Chance did not immediately reply to a request for comment.
