Army can go with a Magistrate

The army can be deployed as a last resort during a protest but they should be accompanied by a Magistrate, Chief of Defence Staff General Jagath Jayasuriya said. Protesters block Fort road

Opposition protesters got to the streets and blocked a section of the road near the Fort railway station this afternoon during a protest against the incident in Weliweriya. A reporter tweeted images of the protest which showed the people holding placards on the road and disrupting vehicular traffic. Vaas?s tab to be investigated

The Colombo Additional Magistrate today ordered the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) to send a computer Tab used by former DIG Vass Gunawardena to the Colombo University to gather the data stored in the device.
