Union Assurance PLC held the Annual Awards 2021 to honour its?top?achievers for their exemplary performance.?The ceremony was held at the Monarch Imperial on 8^th?May 2022, under the theme ?Crowning Excellence.??This event, which crowned the champions,?was?graced by a?distinguished leadership team that included?Chairman of John?Keells?Holdings,?Krishan?Balendra?, and?Chief Executive Officer of Union Assurance,?Jude Gomes.

The?awards ceremony recognised the?exceptional performance of over 670 award winners,?making it the highest number of annual award winners in the Company?s history, a feat driven by a record-breaking performance in 2021. The winners comprised?advisors, agency leaders, regional managers,?and zonal managers from the island-wide Agency?network.

The top?achievers?in the Agency channel?(including?Best?Zone and?Best?Region)?were?honoured,?while?the Ultimate Champion?Kalum?Jayasinghe?was rewarded?with a?flashy?Mercedes-Benz car. Chanaka Appuhamy was also presented with a Mercedes-Benz for his Top of the Table Club achievement.

The CEO of Union Assurance, Jude Gomes?lauded?the winners for delivering?outstanding?results.?He?described?their achievements?as remarkable since?2021 was?full of?challenges?arising from the?pandemic. ?We?achieved?spectacular?business?growth,?excelling?in?everything from?gross written premium?to?profits and income,??he emphasised.?The Company recorded?the highest regular new business growth?among top life insurers,?and became the?industry?s?second largest regular new business producer.?It?produced 300 qualifiers in the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT) ? the highest in the history of Sri Lanka?s life insurance industry.

According to Mr. Gomes, their?technology-driven strategy?has?led to a rapid digital transformation?as a new age, futuristic company. ?The?seamless digital experience?offered to consumers?revolves?around the?Clicklife?app that revolutionised Life Insurance servicing in Sri Lanka,? he asserted.?Another pioneering initiative?was?Health 360. This breakthrough health insurance solution?covers?a range of health issues to ensure the well-being of policyholders.

Mr.?Gomes?expressed?confidence?that 2022 would also be a successful year despite unprecedented challenges.

The Chief Distribution Officer of Union Assurance, Senath?Jayatilake?thanked the team for their outstanding performance.
