Cabinet approves new deal with China on Hambantota Port

Cabinet has approved a new agreement with China on the Hambantota Port. Under the new agreement 70 percent of the?Hambantota Port will be given on lease to a Chinese company. Under the agreement, China Merchants Port Holdings will own 70 percent stake of the port while Sri Lanka Ports Authority will own 30 percent, Ports Minister Mahinda Samarasinghe said late Tuesday. Government insists student activist was to be arrested not abducted
