MR confirms North polls in 2013

President Mahinda Rajapaksa today confirmed that provincial council elections for the northern province will be held in September next year. Over 20 shops gutted in Embilipitiya

Over 20 shops were gutted following a fire which broke out in Embilipitiya this morning, the police media unit said. The police said that the fire damaged the temporary shops erected in close proximity to the Embilipitiya bus stand. A gas powered illuminator in one of the shops had caught fire resulting in the blaze spreading to around 23 shops.
