President calls for pro-people revolutionary transformation

President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, in his May Day message, has called for a pro-people revolutionary transformation.

The President said tat the International Workers’ Day comes at a time when the world’s working community is facing its greatest challenge.

“In the past three years, the group that faced the most serious challenges in our country is our working class. They are also the ones who were resilient in the face of all these challenges and made great commitments to strengthen the national economy. The day-to-day challenges they face are even more intense today. The government is taking various approaches to liberate the people from this situation and alleviate the oppressive nature of the situation,” he said.

The President said that the loss of foreign exchange has created many issues and managing all these factors is the way to solve the issues.

“Instead of following up on who is responsible for the current problematic situation, what we need to do now is to focus on what action can be taken to provide immediate relief to the public, and also to go for the most appropriate and efficient programme to find solutions to the burning issues of the people,” he said.

Bearing the responsibility of creating a better future for the people of this country, as the Head of State and on behalf of the people the President invited the leaders of all political parties to work together.

He said that each second, the main goal is to find solutions to the existing crises by resorting to methods that can alleviate the suffering of the people.

“On this year’s Workers’ Day, I once again invite the leaders of all political parties to come to a consensus on behalf of the people to overcome the challenge we face,” he said.

The President called on the working people to put politics aside and join to steer the struggle in a positive direction with a pro-people revolutionary transformation on behalf of the working people. (Colombo Gazette)

  1. Look at the pictures circulating on social media of SJB members feeding Sajith Premadasa like a bunch of school children. Anyone in SJB who has any brains remaining time to get back to Ranil and the UNP. Can’t have these type of people governing a country. Not voting SJB even to throw out the Rajapaksas…

  2. GR is making a mockery of the peaceful struggle to oust him and his clan so that the cleaning process can begin. He pretends that he is originator for the call of the youngsters. Has he forgotten that his name is Gota, splashed all over the world, with the slogan Go Home Gota? Has he lost any sense of reality? Have this whole family gone bonkers? Are we being ruled by persons of this caliber? Is this an episode of Ripley’s Believe or not?

  3. Every last one of these criminals in politics will be prosecuted and jailed for life and get the death sentence. Trials will be telecast internationally. Sirisena and many others will get jail time for their role in protecting the Rajapaksas and the criminal networks.

  4. These are the clowns Mr Gilon hopes will transform Sri Lanka. It appears Mr Gilon has his people’s dry sense of humour.
