Air India waives off cancellations charges for Colombo flights

Human rights commission finds outside elements behind violence

The National Human Rights Commission of Sri Lanka (NHRCSL) says it has found that outside elements had instigated the violence in Kandy. As violence continues in Kandy area strict curfew enforced

As violence continued in the Kandy area today a strict curfew has been enforced from 4 this evening to 4pm tomorrow. The Police said that the curfew will be enforced under the emergency regulations. A state of emergency has been in place since yesterday. Several Muslim owned shops were set on fire in parts of Kandy today despite the strong Police and military presence in Kandy.
