CPSTL to cancel licence of fuel transporters who strike

Ceylon Petroleum Storage Terminals Limited (CPSTL) is to cancel the licence of fuel transporters who go on strike.

Energy Minister Kanchana Wijesekera said that CPSTL has been instructed to immediately open up registration for new suppliers to transport fuel and to cancel the registration of suppliers who fail to report to duty.

He said that trains, Government owned bowsers, fuel station owned bowsers abd private hired bowsers are not on strike and will continue their services.

The Minister said that a total of 381 bowsers were used for deliveries at 4pm today (Saturday).

He said that 84 Government owned bowsers, 103 fuel station bowsers and 194 hired bowsers are not on strike.

The Minister also said that sufficient Auto Diesel, Super Diesel, Petrol 92 and Kerosine fuel have been released to the fuel stations and is in stock while there is a limited supply of 95 Octane Petrol. (Colombo Gazette)
