Barricades with spikes placed in some parts of Fort

Barricades with spikes have been placed in some parts of Fort, blocking access to the President’s House.

A number of permanent and temporary barricades had been placed in several areas in Fort.

Additional barricades were placed to prevent university students who were protesting today from getting close to the President’s House.

Some barricades could be seen with spikes to prevent protesters from pushing their way through.

A number of people who were travelling to Galle Face crept through some of the barricades.

A tense situation was reported in some areas as monks and others engaged in a heated exchange with the Police at the barricades. (Colombo Gazette)

The Indian government says the Sri Lankan nay has been told not to fire on Indian fishing vessels.
