Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa says he and his party are prepared for talks with independent groups in Parliament.
Premadasa noted that these groups had understood the reality and sat with the opposition in Parliament.
The Opposition Leader said that while there was no agreement with these groups the opposition Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) was prepared to have discussions with them to seek solutions to the issues faced by the public.
Forty MPs from the ruling Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) led alliance sat in the opposition benches in Parliament today.
Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) leader Maithripala Sirisena told Parliament that they had decided to listen to the voice of the people and sit with the opposition.
He insisted that they are not going to be under the Opposition Leader but will remain as independent MPs.
Sirisena said that the appointment of a new Cabinet will not resolve the current crisis.
He noted that the demand from the public is for the entire Government to step down.?(Colombo Gazette)
