“We want Gota” demonstration held in Colombo

A “we want Gota” demonstration was held in Colombo today to counter a massive campaign underway to force President Gotabaya Rajapaksa to resign.

The demonstration staged in support of the President saw only a small number of people attending.

The demonstrators said that people from Colombo 7 were pushing for the removal of the President.

However, they insisted that President Gotabaya Rajapaksa and Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa must remain.

Mass protests are continuing around the country calling on President Gotabaya Rajapaksa to resign.

The “Go Home Gota” campaign is trending on twitter and has the backing of thousands of people around the country. (Colombo Gazette)
